Smaller is Bigger Thanks to 2.5 inches.

A 2.5 inch form factor that is! Fujitsu will start shipping in May a series of hard disk drives that can cram 500 Gbytes in to a 2.5 inch form factor drive. Fujitsu is expecting to sell 20 million of the MHZ2 BT series drives during fiscal year 2008, and is banking on RoHS compliance, a small form factor and blazing speeds to make it all happen.
The drives require a mere 1.8 Watts of power for read and write operations and will also support Serial ATA 3.0 Gbps interface for high-speed data transfers. A small size, massive capacity and low energy use - what more could a system builder ask for?
